BRANDYWINE 3248 in VIRGINIA
Photo Tour
This Brandywine is nearing completion. The kit is complete and with the addition of the doors, windows and roof panels, the shell is dried-in.
This home is now completed. We visited early one summer morning. The approach is on the North, and at the top left is how it looks as you drive up the road. You only see the solar features of the home when you walk around to the South.
The solar hot water panels are mounted on a heavy timber frame constructed on the ground in front of the house.
The main entry is on the North. The kids enjoy the morning shade on the entry porch. Once inside, the glass door leads from the "mud room" into the living room.

The Kitchen is on the east end of the house. Outside the east entry door is another covered porch, which was an option to the home kit. Misty in thinking about going out.
The Brandywine has a deep sunspace across the entire length of the house. It is everyone's favorite room, and the engine that makes the house run.
Also on the main level is the master bedroom suite (left). The kid's bedrooms are on the upper level. One of them is shown on the right.
A large family room and an office are on the lower level.
Back outside, Mike is interviewed for a TV program to be aired in August. You can watch the program here.
The West peak is another illustration of the total solid wood construction of the Enertia home.
One of the family pets is a peacock. And, the family members themselves are proud as peacocks about their Enertia home. They have built a beautiful, sustainable, green home, that is going to take care of them and many generations of their family in the future.
